T O P I C R E V I E WChildofVenusHow do you know who's accurate? Or do you take all of their observations into consideration? RandallBump!ChildofVenusI just wonder how people know which readings are the most accurate. DualGemIf two astrologers say the same thing but in a different way then it must be correct.I try to look for overlap, if it doesn't overlap then I don't believe it. ====================================Gemini Sun,Capricorn RisingAries MoonGemini MercuryVenus TaurusMars CancerChildofVenusFor example two people read my synastry charts but they both said different things. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum35/HTML/004011.html - The part about the Pluto on the ascendant may not be correct because I don't know the other persons birth time. But someone else read the chart and said something completely different. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum35/HTML/004218-2.html that's why sometimes all of this seems confusing. Not knowing who is really accurate with their readings. Due to both people saying different things. quote:Originally posted by DualGem:If two astrologers say the same thing but in a different way then it must be correct.I try to look for overlap, if it doesn't overlap then I don't believe it. ====================================Gemini Sun,Capricorn RisingAries MoonGemini MercuryVenus TaurusMars CancerDopGangI have had this done. I try to zoom out and get the big picture of what they say. The more detailed we get it seems there's more chance for inaccuracies. It's all interpretation and that's important to remember. There's a LOT going on and at no time in the history of people has anyone been able to isolate an aspect, truly. It's always a part of something much greater, bigger. The birth chart, a person. So astrology itself must have been from finding "themes" within people who shared aspects but it's always going to manifest a little differently because of the birth chart and person that it's a part of. You'll never get that true, absolute purity of aspects. So when my chart is read, I watch for themes. The more detailed that an astrologer gets, I make note but give it a little less weight. No disrespect to them. It's like trying to pick ingredients out of a dessert, describe what they taste like when no one has EVER had ANY of the ingredients by themselves. Don't get me wrong. I love diving into details and I think that's when, and why astrology amazes us. But I also try to stay realistic if I can. ChildofVenusSo astrology can't tell you whether or not you will end up being friends with someone. Or whether or not the person will remain in your life? quote:Originally posted by DopGang:I have had this done. I try to zoom out and get the big picture of what they say. LionFishI think maybe you need to take a step back and think about what you feel and what he has told you he feels. All of which can be explained by, yes, looking at your charts; but basing whether or not to have a FRIENDSHIP with someone long distance over astrology is preposterous. If you get along and like each other, continue being friends. If not, end it. It's really that simple.Even the "best" charts with a majority of easy aspects can represent a relationship that doesn't last. I have one of those as an example myself. So in turn, a chart with seemingly difficult aspects doesn't mean you can't have a relationship. My best friend and I have Sun square Moon and have been friends for almost 20 years. I wasn't aware of that Sun/Moon square until 13 years into our friendship. But if I go off the charts we shouldn't be able to be friends and I should have just ended it almost 7 years ago. Well now, that doesn't seem logical does it?Trust what you know, which is how you feel. If you like him, be his friend.ChildofVenusAre you saying that it's hard to have a long distance friendship with someone? quote:Originally posted by LionFish:I think maybe you need to take a step back and think about what you feel and what he has told you he feels. All of which can be explained by, yes, looking at your charts; but basing whether or not to have a FRIENDSHIP with someone long distance over astrology is preposterous. I have been best friends with a girl since I was very very young. Around 10 years ago I have moved but we have managed to stay in contact and our friendship has just grown. The distance doesn't stop our relationship because we value each other and our friendship is priceless for us. However I have had many other friends who I lost contact with when I have moved. I believe that only strong relationship survive the distance and that's what makes them special. HadesFishNot quite sure how long this has been going on, but...I agree that dates matter, also for example since astrology matters to me in this regard, if I care enough to pull up a chart for whatever reason, I'd assume I'm close enough to said person to know their birth details - all of them. Sounds creepy, but whatev. Also, the most important aspect in regards to chart reading is to know yourself[your own chart] first. If you are unfamiliar with it, others reading it will give you what you do or don't know and that can be tricky. You and other(s) must also be somewhat evolved/mature for charts to blend together. Since you've also mentioned other things like feelings such as long distance, why he acts in ways that you don't like, etc... Look to your own chart of why you answer and put up with it. Cheers.------------------All that glitters is not Gold.ChildofVenusWell he and I aren't in a relationship we've meet before in person. Things were a lot different then I guess that would make sense though. I have a lot of hard aspects in my natal like Venus square Saturn, Venus square Uranus and that's probably why I can take a lot of it. I'm not sure why two people couldn't be friends just because they don't live near each other. I do plan on going to see him again maybe next month sometime. I also have Venus in Pisces which tends to make me attracted to people who have issues etc. I do have quite a few Neptune aspects in my chart as well. I just wish we could get along but as you said both people have to be evolved. He has Venus sextile Saturn and I know with the aspect those people usually don't give up on relationships too easily. For me sometimes I feel like one day we may argue and I might just be done for good. That's probably my Venus square Saturn talking lol. quote:Originally posted by HadesFish:Not quite sure how long this has been going on, but...I agree that dates matter, also for example since astrology matters to me in this regard, if I care enough to pull up a chart for whatever reason, I'd assume I'm close enough to said person to know their birth details - all of them. I try to look for overlap, if it doesn't overlap then I don't believe it.
